We are updating our website to comply with new federal ADA accessibility standards.
On April 24, 2024, the Federal Register published the Department of Justice’s (Department) final rule updating its regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The final rule has specific requirements for ensuring that web content and mobile applications (apps) are accessible to people with disabilities. Texas Government Code Chapter 2054 and the new federal Title II rule require state and local governments to ensure web content is accessible by following WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and complying with applicable state and federal laws. Title II of the ADA requires governments to make all services, programs, and online content accessible to people with disabilities, in a manner consistent with unified state and federal standards. For more information, please visit the ADA website. Cities with fewer than 50,000 residents will have until April 26, 2027, to meet the compliance requirements.
CivicPlus Platform Change
In addition to updating our website, we will migrate to the CivicPlus Central Platform as the current platform is being phased out. This transition will take 12 to 14 weeks and will occur in five phases.
