The City of Seadrift issues the following correction to the posted agenda: The agenda incorrectly lists the meeting date as Tuesday, July 2, 2026. The correct date is Thursday, July 2, 2026. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. This notice is provided in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, which requires that “[a] governmental body shall give written notice of the date, hour, place, and subject of each meeting held by the governmental body” (Tex. Gov’t Code § 551.041), to ensure accurate and transparent communication with the public. This statement is from Robert McKnight, City Attorney. “The Open Meetings Act requires that "[a] governmental body shall give written notice of the date, hour, place, and subject of each meeting held by the governmental body." Tex. Gov't Code section 551.041. The notice as posted gives what the law requires — the date (July 2). The day (Tuesday) conflicts with the date, but the date is what's essential according to the Government Code, not the day. In my opinion the notice is sufficient, but you should post a clarification (without removing the original notice) that the day is Thursday, not Tuesday.” Thank you for your understanding.
